Soon after high school, the truck was gutted and painted inside and out in preparation for the V8. I painted the truck pewter-gray, imitating the gray car from the movie "The Wraith".

The truck had a shortened Ford 9" rear end in it at this point also. The stock Ford axle's didn't last long and were replaced by Summers Brother's Axles within the first 6 months..

Here's a front view of the first engine. It was a mildly built 350 which made about 300hp, more than enough power to get in trouble with if your young and stupid (I was both). I can recall almost killing myself about 3 times with this motor. Repeat after me, "stopping distance"!

A side view of the engine. I can't tell if that's me or my friend Brian, wrenching on the water pump. Brian helped me a lot this first time. In fact, the V8 was his idea. I was going to put a V6 in the truck; I'm glad I didn't.

Here's a front view of the truck. You can see how much we removed from the core support to fit the Mustang radiator. The Mustang radiator turned out to be a waste of time and was replaced soon with a Modine 4-core cross-flow.

This is right before we fired her up. Here you can the Holley 650 DP, Edlebrock Torquer II intake, and Hooker Headers. You CAN'T see the Camel hump heads, Crane "RV" cam, TRW pistons, stock rods, and steel crank, amongst other things.

Front view, the day of it's maiden voyage.  Not a bad job for a couple of 18 year old punks.

You can see the paint scheme in this picture. I was happy with the look of it. It turned some heads being that it was unique looking and unique sounding (for a Chevy Luv). We had some fun for sure!

Here you can see the interior upgrades.
